Moving Home Without Losing Track of the Details

A four-week moving plan for sorting, packing, utilities, documents, and a calmer first night.

HomeHunter Editorial 6 min read

Moving becomes difficult when every task is left for the final weekend. A short timeline spreads the work and protects the documents and essentials you cannot afford to misplace.

Four weeks before

Confirm the handover date, measure important furniture, compare movers, and start reducing items you no longer need. Create a simple inventory and a folder for the agreement, receipts, and contacts.

One week before

Pack by room and label each box on two sides. Arrange utility changes, update important addresses, and confirm lift or vehicle access with both buildings. Keep valuables and documents with you.

Moving day

  • Photograph meter readings and the condition of both homes.
  • Use a separate bag for medicines, chargers, clothes, water, and basic tools.
  • Check cupboards, balconies, bathrooms, and storage before leaving.
  • Count boxes before the vehicle departs and after unloading.

Unpack sleeping, bathroom, and kitchen essentials first. Everything else can wait until the next day.
